Snapshot Sunday #9

I've had a really lovely weekend. One of the best in a while!
It was my Mum's 60th birthday yesterday, and she also retired on Friday. We had some family & friends round to celebrate in the evening so I spent the afternoon making some cupcakes for the occasion. After some cuddles with my gorgeous nephew, Ben and I headed out to my bestie's engagement drinks. A night full of wedding talk and a couple of glasses of rosé.

Today, we treated my Mum and Dad to afternoon tea at Coworth Park in Ascot, which was beautiful. The tea was gorgeous - I had coconut tea, and we filled ourselves up with plenty of finger sandwiches, scones and pastries. It was definitely worth the big bill at the end! Afterwards, we took a stroll around the grounds - taking cheesy family photos along the way, of course.

All in all, a brilliant end to a boring week! What have you been up to?

Snapshot Sunday #8

This Bank Holiday Weekend has so far seen me do some holiday shopping, go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour and have more cuddles with my beautiful nephew.

I went to the HP Studio Tour with Ben's Mum, and we had such a great time. The only disappointment we had was the fact there was no butterbeer :( There was something wrong with the water/machine so they were unable to serve them.
It's animal week there this week - I'm a bit animal-mad, especially when it comes to cats (erm, that's an obvious one) and the fact there were KITTENS there made it all the more exciting. I had my photo taken with Hedwig, bought a chocolate frog and took a million photos. I'm sure we missed a few things as there was so much to see, so we plan to go back sometime. And hopefully get to taste butterbeer...

How is everyone else's weekend going? It's nice to see some sunshine again - a rare occurance for a bank holiday!

This weekend has been an exciting one. A VERY exciting one indeed. That little fella above is my nephew! Ethan was born Saturday night weighing a very healthy 8lbs 5oz. I am LOVING being an Auntie so far, and cannot describe how much I love him already. My brother and sister-in-law have the most perfect son. ♥

Apologies for the rubbish iPhone photo. I'll be sure to take some photos of him with his Mummy and Daddy with my SLR very soon.

Hope you've all had as lovely a weekend as I have :)

Loves of late...

This post was inspired by the lovely Victoria, who recently kindly gave my blog a mention in her 'What I am currently loving' post - so thank you, Victoria! I've been loving lots of things lately so I thought I would do a little post.

♥ The Primrose Bakery - it was my boyfriend's birthday yesterday and we popped into the one in Covent Garden for tea and a cupcake. Ben, typically, got a chocolate cupcake and I went for a rose one - which was so yummy. I would definitely recommend a visit if you're ever in London. I have the Primrose Bakery book, which I have tried a few recipes from - now I am desperate to try the rose cupcakes, as mine was so lovely!

♥ Illamasqua speckled nail polishes - my boyfriend got me the lilac one and now I'm after the whole collection! Who doesn't want mini egg nails?!

♥ Saving - bit of a funny one, as I love shopping and spending money in general. Although I have made a few little purchases this month, and treated Ben on his birthday, I have been a lot more sensible and not as quick to spend money as I usually am. It feels good! I just hope I can keep up Frugal February for the rest of the month.

♥ Crafting/DIY-ing - always a love of mine, but I have done a fair bit lately - namely some floral bunting [which I am yet to finish], jewellery making and a little DIY which has been on my list to do for a little while - post soon!

♥ Baby clothes - every time I pass by a baby/kids clothes shop I have to stop and take a look. My nephew isn't due until May but I've already bought him a couple of onesies, and I'm finding it hard to stop there! Spoilt little munchkin.

♥ This quote which I found on Pinterest. I think it's perfect for my boyfriend as he is so fussy and he always says I should feel privileged as he is with me, ha ha.

♥ The Walking Dead - I love this show and I'm so glad it's back on! I have a few US shows I watch each week - is it sad that I get excited at work, knowing I have something good to watch at home in the evening!? It's the little things.

♥ Summer holiday planning - we've booked to go to Malta and I am super excited - especially as we are planning to do the dolphin swim whilst we are there! We almost did one when we went to Portugal in 2011, but couldn't afford it. So I think it's a must this time!

♥ Blogs - I couldn't end this without mentioning a few of my favourites! Lily Loves Lola, A Rosie Outlook, Sail boat, A Million Dresses, Sweet Monday, Cold Knees and Little Winter - these are just a few of the blogs I've been loving for a while now. I'm always on the lookout for new blogs to follow so please feel free to recommend your favourites!

Hope you all have a beaut weekend. x

Recent purchases - from the sales

I don't know about you, but I'm not much of a fan of the sales. I don't see the appeal in rummaging through racks of jumbled up clothes and getting pushed about by rude, ignorant people. There's only one solution - online shopping! And I didn't even have to leave my bed.

Excuse the shoddy photos - lighting was awful when I took these.

This is the one item I did find on a quick hunt in the shops. I wanted this when it was full price, but £35 seemed a bit too much. I didn't think I was going to find it but when I spotted this [the last one] I prayed it would be a 10. I was disappointed to find it was a size 6, but tried it on anyway - desperation and all that - only to find it fit me! I think it's meant to be oversized, but I still don't understand sizing sometimes. Ah well, I'm happy I found it!

I bought this shirt off boohoo. Not a major bargain, with only £5 off the original price, but I don't think it was too bad for £15. I love the PU studded collar! I also bought a black pinafore dress off the website. I had been after one for a while and found this one for £15 which I thought was a total bargain. I'm not sure whether it's a bit 'young' for me, at 27 years of age, but oh well. I think it's cute!

This is the first thing I've bought my nephew, due in May :) My brother and sister-in-law revealed the sex of their baby to us on Boxing Day. I had predicted a boy since they announced they were expecting. It's so exciting and I'm loving looking at cute baby boy stuff! I love David and Goliath's baby clothes. There's another onesie which says 'I only cry when ugly people hold me' hahaha. I got this when it was in the sale, it was around £8 which is still quite a lot for a baby onesie, but my nephew is definitely worth it!

I have bought a couple of full-priced items recently too, and I'm still on the look out for some good sale deals online - anyone found any good things?! I've got to curb it soon though, as we'll be booking a holiday soon and I'm also saving for a camera! I guess I'm just splashing out a little whilst I can!

Did you get anything nice in the sales?
