Life lately.

Typically Autumn. I've enjoyed nothing more than snuggling under my slanket with a cup of tea, Yankee candles burning and a good book [The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, which was fantastic]. Breaking my spending ban with that Zara bag and sequin sleeve jacket, making jewellery, making homemade salted caramel hot chocolate, dressing up as a cat for lots of fun and games at my friend's Halloween party and getting off to a good start on my Christmas shopping.
The best thing lately is that I can finally talk openly about the fact I'm going to be an Auntie! My brother and sister-in-law told us the news a couple of months ago, but I wasn't allowed to tell anyone [minus Ben] until the 3 month scan. I am soooo very excited!

Bit of a different post for me, I thought I'd break my nail art/baking/crafty posting habit! I always like having a little insight into other people's lives - perhaps I'm just nosey? Might make this kinda post a more regular thing?

I turned the ripe old age of 27 on Saturday. I always get depressed over turning another year older [3 years from 30 - how the hell did that happen?!] but I had the best day so that made up for it.

My boyfriend gave me my cake in the morning, as he does every year. This year I got a pretty pink cake, decorated with butterflies and roses.

I opened a few presents in the morning [I got some wonderful gifts, and plan to do a post on them soon], then we got ready and went for a pub breakfast. We then got the train to Waterloo and headed to The Strand, where we went to The Adelphi Theatre to see Sweeney Todd.

It was absolutely fantastic - couldn't fault anything at all. The cast were amazing, especially Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton. I also thought Jason Manford made a very good Pirelli! I think Ben quite liked it too, despite not being a fan of musicals at all.

After the show, we had to dash back home to get ready for the night. As I can't stand organising things, my friend Shaun planned drinks at a couple of the local pubs for me. I had a very good night, got very drunk and drove my boyfriend very mad. But he forgave me!



I get very affectionate when intoxicated. And emotional. I cried on my best friend's shoulder as it was the night before she went off travelling. Gonna miss you mush. ♥

[04] It's my birthday on Saturday, and I'm looking forward to seeing this!

[06] And naughty Zara purchases. Can you tell it was pay day?
[07] Topshop sale purchases. Both half price!
[08] Cake pop! I now really want to make some of these and have asked for a kit for my birthday.
[09] The amazing camera necklace I found in the Accessorize sale for £4. FOUR QUID. :)

So it seems like the only thing I've done the last week or so is shop and eat cake.

This weekend is a special one. Not because it's the Jubilee [no offence, Queenie] but because it is the wedding of the year tomorrow. My big brother is getting married! So there's been lots of preparation and excitement for it, and the day will soon be upon us. I'm off to Suzie's [his fiancée's] parents' house tonight, all the bridesmaids will be there so think there'll be a bit of a pamper evening going on! I am toooooo excited :)

Ummm sorry for the obscene amount of food this week...





Hope everyone has been enjoying the gorgeous weather this week! We've had highs of 28 here...crazy to think that it was pouring it down constantly the other week! I wish I could have enjoyed it more [ugh, work] but am glad I am not stuck in an office - we did get out in the garden with the kids loads, but would rather have been in a pub garden to be fair! Hopefully the nice weather will stick around this weekend so I can do that :)
