5 Good Things

Taking inspiration from Victoria and posting my '5 good things' of late!



1. Receiving a single pink rose and my favourite champagne truffles for Valentine's Day.



2. This weekend just gone Ben finally caught up with me and turned 28. I made him a super chocolatey cake and we went out for dinner at our favourite Indian with a couple of friends - our first 'double date', where we stuffed ourselves silly which meant no room for cake after. I think it was the fullest I had ever felt. That's what happens when you're the one paying - you don't want to waste a single bite.




3. Healthy banana pancakes! I posted the recipe for these last year. They are so tasty and feel like a treat which is great for when you're eating healthily and fancy something naughty. I love adding peanut butter to the mix and blueberries make a good addition too.

4. Going to my first gig in a few years and seeing Taking Back Sunday play in Camden next week. I've seen them a couple of times before, but years ago, and no doubt my friends and I will be the oldest ones there. But I'm really excited!

5. My best friend gets married next year (exciting!) and we are going on the hunt for THE DRESS next weekend. I've joked to Ben that I'll do a Monica from Friends. Well, he thinks I'm joking...

Snapshop Sunday #19

My friend gave me this book for Christmas and I finished it yesterday. I absolutely loved it. I don't want to give away too much, incase you haven't read it, but it is so lovely and heartwarming. I fell in love with Bob!
I'd really like to read more books in 2014 - it would be amazing to do 52 books (a book a week!) - if you have any recommendations please let me know :)

Disposables - Malta

Ben and I had loads of fun using my disposable camera whilst on holiday in Malta. We mainly used it in the pool, hoping to get some cool underwater shots - however, it was only after he'd taken one of me we realised we had come to the end of the film. Ooops. I also took it along to the place where we did our dolphin swim and took photos of the dolphins during their presentation. Here's the best of the bunch.

Snapshot Sunday #9

I've had a really lovely weekend. One of the best in a while!
It was my Mum's 60th birthday yesterday, and she also retired on Friday. We had some family & friends round to celebrate in the evening so I spent the afternoon making some cupcakes for the occasion. After some cuddles with my gorgeous nephew, Ben and I headed out to my bestie's engagement drinks. A night full of wedding talk and a couple of glasses of rosé.

Today, we treated my Mum and Dad to afternoon tea at Coworth Park in Ascot, which was beautiful. The tea was gorgeous - I had coconut tea, and we filled ourselves up with plenty of finger sandwiches, scones and pastries. It was definitely worth the big bill at the end! Afterwards, we took a stroll around the grounds - taking cheesy family photos along the way, of course.

All in all, a brilliant end to a boring week! What have you been up to?
