November Crafty Creatives box

I received November's Crafty Creatives box yesterday and, as usual, it didn't fail to brighten up my day.

The theme of this month's box is Nostalgia..on the card it reads...

Tis the season to...feel nostalgic! We've tried to recreate that happy, peaceful feeling of times gone by, childhood joys and simple pleasures...with a few festive goodies thrown in!

And that they have done! I decided to post about my personal favourites from the box.

These are just so sweet! They were the first thing which I spotted when I opened my box. Not entirely sure what I will use them for yet, but I love them.

Cannot wait to use this festive ribbon to wrap my Christmas gifts with this year!

IMG_3151
These edging scissors would be great for card making and gift wrapping. The hand screen printed fabric would be lovely to use to make something for my niece/nephew :)

Was so happy when I saw this little teacup and saucer! Cannot wait to make a lovely little piece of jewellery using this.

I really like the colours of these jingle bells and the pretty carousel pendants.

Vintage style Alice in Wonderland postcard - would look so pretty framed and hung up somewhere.

And last, but not least, this month's kit is a crochet mouse! I tried crochet years ago and quickly gave up as I found it quite frustrating [simply because I couldn't do it, ha], however I am determined to give it a go again. Wish me luck!

There are some other simply gorgeous things in the box but, as I said, these are just my personal favourites! You can see a list of other bloggers over on the Crafty Creatives website who have also posted about the box and what their thoughts are on it.

Another fantastic Crafty Creatives box. As you can see, this month's box has a gothic theme, to tie in with Halloween. The contents of this box are right up my street - lots of pieces to make jewellery out of, and customise clothes with! Just some of my favourite bits are - silver studs, glass cabochon with a gothic frame setting, 2 mini gothic keys, 1 fat quarter of black lace and 2 decorative ring blanks. I love it all! I'm particularly excited about this month's kit - a gothic masquerade mask!

Also, I am now pinning for the lovely ladies at Crafty Creatives, so if you have Pinterest please follow the lovely crafty boards here!

Craft project - wooden floral bunting.

Here's my latest craft project! I made use of the wooden bunting I got in my August Crafty Creatives box, and I'm so pleased with how it turned out.

I decided to paint a design on my bunting, and went for roses - I love them, and I have a lot of floral things in my room so I figured it'd match well!

I got some acrylic paint and paintbrushes from Hobbycraft [cost me less than a tenner so not too bad!] and got to work. I hadn't really planned exactly what colour combinations I was going to do - I just went with the flow and mixed colours as I went along!

I used the yellow paper string which came in my Crafty Creatives box to hang the bunting. I really like it. It might not be perfect, but that's the charm of handmade. It looks so pretty hung in my room :)

Did you get the August Crafty Creatives box? What have you made so far?

August Crafty Creatives box

Forget beauty boxes, check out Crafty Creatives! I have been waiting for something like this for a while - not really into beauty products, but very much a crafter!

Sign up and, for £10 [plus £2.95 p+p] you will receive a box each month filled with gorgeous crafting goodies.

I was gutted I missed out on the first box [floral themed] but I signed up as soon as I heard about it.

This month's box has a nautical theme, and I was very impressed with all the stuff I received! I imagine if I was to go to hobbycraft for all this it would cost me much more than a tenner.

With the box is a card, detailing all the items received. This month it was: Driftwood, 2 coconut shell fish buttons, 1 boat wheel pendant, 3 large wooden bunting flags, 3 porcelain fish beads, 10m of coloured paper string, large sqaure of hessian material, small bag of red/white/blue buttons, 1 string of glass pearls, 3 sheets of nautical paper, 5 little starfish pendants and 2m of flag ribbons & 3 blank tags.

On top all of this, this month's kit is a lovely nautical bracelet, so I'm looking forward to giving that a whirl.

I'm so excited about this box - especially the wooden bunting flags, flag ribbon and glass pearls. Need to get my thinking cap on and figure out what to make with it all!

Now I can't wait for next month's box :)
